Jake Lipman received her Masters of Fine Arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School. She has toured nationally, appeared in New York and regional theater, independent film, and voice-over work, in addition to producing theater.

Jake co-produced Jane Martin's Anton in Show Business and Alan Ball's Five Women Wearing the Same Dress with Bunyip Theatre Company. In 2006, she formed tongue in cheek theater (tic) to produce seriously funny theater.

tic's inaugural season kicked off in early 2006 with Paula Vogel's Baltimore Waltz, followed by Wearing Me Down, a collection of three one-act plays presented by Prospect Theater Company's Dark Night Series in October 2006. In 2007, Jake associate-produced Sure Thing and Variations on the Death of Trotsky with Merete Muenter. 2008 has seen a revival of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters and the recently sold-out run of Five Flights by Adam Bock.

Jake received her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College. While abroad for her junior year in Paris, she studied acting under French film actor Philippe Brigaud at Studio 34 and 17th century literature at the Sorbonne. Her artwork can be seen on the posters for tic and in her comic strip New Bird City.
